For all the schools interested in their fourth grade classes having the Texas History lesson of a lifetime, now might the opportunity you need. Registration for the 2008-2009 school year has already started, so register early while you still can!
New Artifact Guide for the Taste of Texas!
The Taste of Texas has always had an outstanding array of Texas treasures and astonishing pieces of history. Now you'll be able to take a small piece of that history home with you with the official artifact guide. The guide gives the name and a brief history of each object all in numbered order. With the help of the guide, you'll become a Texas History wiz in no time!
Help the Taste of Texas fight MS!
Edd & Nina are giving HUGE Taste of Texas goddie incentives to help them fight Multiple Sclerosis. For each donation, you can get the following: One free appetizer and one free dessert for a $75 donation, a $25 gift card for a donation of $150, a $50 gift card for a donation of $250, a $100 gift card and IMMEDIATE seating for four with a donation of $350, or a $150 gift card and IMMEDIATE seating for six with a donation of $500. Saturday August 16, 2008 - Adult History Tour with Nina Hendee!
Back by popular demand, Nina Hendee will be leading an adult history tour of the Taste of Texas. The fee is $20.00 per person and will include the tour as well as lunch provided by the Taste of Texas.
New awards bestowed upon the Taste of Texas!
The Taste has been blessed with the support and patronage of all of our guests. With your support we have been awarded a few different rather prestigious honors. First, Channel 13 News has named us one of the best places to work in Houston. Second, Houston Luxury magazine will feature Lisa Hendee as one of Houston's best chefs highlighted by their favorite dishes and culinary expertise. Then, we've won our 14th consecutive Wine Spectator's Award of Excellence. Last, we've been blessed with the Zagat Survey's Rating of EXCELLENT for 2008! How Exciting!
New Wine Flight for all to enjoy!
The Taste of Texas has a new wine flight! Our wine flight consists of three two ounce glasses of a special selection of wine. Our currently featured wines are from the Silverado Winery in NAPA Valley and includes: Silverado Merlot, 2003; Silverado Cabernet Sauvignon, 2004; and Silverado Merlot - Stag's Leap District, 2001.
New food to enjoy (but not on the menu yet)!
There are a few new additions to the Taste of Texas food repituar. The new items include a baked sweet potato served with cinnimon butter and pecans, sweet potato fries, a fourteen ounch, bone-in center-cut filet, and a fried lobster tail served on top of a citrus salad with sweet potato fries and a creamy dijon mustard sauce.
